Deinema/DeRoy used the stories of the square’s residents, visitors and shopkeepers as a source of inspiration and visualized these in ‘The Country Delfland’. In the former video shop at Delflandplein, a new country has come into being.
The country Delfland was complete with ministers, rituals, maps and courts. The stories and memories of the residents and shop keepers of Delflandplein provided the ingredients for this art project.The country is a mixture of facts, fiction, legend, folklore and fantasy. Delflandplein is a square in Amsterdam-Slotervaart which is on the verge of undergoing large-scale change.
